The Adelaide Walk is always special. . On 5th November our sixth annual Adelaide “Put Your Foot Down” Walk was held under clear sunny skies as our walkers made their way along Henley Beach. It is such a fitting end to our National Walk calendar to end in November, the internationally recognised Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month.
Teralba Park was transformed into a sea of purple on Sunday, October 8 for our sixth annual Brisbane "Put Your Foot Down" walk for Pancreatic Cancer. A huge "thank you" to everyone who took part in the walk, fundraised, donated and volunteered. We are so pleased to announce that to date the 2017 Brisbane walk has raised $30,792 and donations are still coming in.
On September 1 the "Wish You Were Here" team set off on their Kokoda trek. After losing their close mate, Peter Grima, to Pancreatic Cancer they set themselves a task that was symbolic of the challenges and hardships faced by cancer patients from the initial diagnosis and throughout the treatment. They have written a firsthand account of the trek and have shared their experience with all of us.
Our annual Sydney "Best Things in Life" dinner was held on Wednesday, July 26 once again in the stunning Ivy Ballroom. The dinner was again generously co-hosted by our corporate partners, Woolworths and Coca-Cola Amatil. We were delighted to also welcome our governors and friends of the Foundation. This hugely successful dinner raised more than $160,000 after costs!
